Girl Time And Eye Candy

My girls and I meetly weekly. We have a weekly date where we catch up on gossip and check out the local eye candy. Most importantly, it's "our face time" with oneanother. As we took turns updating oneanother of the happenings of our life which included but didn't end at: grad school, job interviews, new exercise programs, the various mens in our life, who's in a 12 step program, who's not in a 12 step program but should be, the sale at Bloomies, Tiger's love child (I'm still trying to get over that one) it was clear that topic of choice always ended on the same topic or should I say topics: career and love.

I've been told that we only have two real problems in life ever: Romance or Finance which mean love or career. The first time I heard this I thought it was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. But the more I thought about it, it seemed too simple to be brilliant. After all, if these really were the two main problems anyone could have, then why weren't more people happy? I mean, they were only two problems. Analyzing what romance and finance represented to the human being a little further, I could see that having an answer to these two issues could in fact provide a good down payment on happiness, on sustainable happiness. How many times have you thought, if only I made this amount of money or if only I had that special someone? Now you don't have to answer out loud, but be honest with yourself and it really is okay if you say ALL THE TIME. You are not alone.

Romance and Finance. Two things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm.
